Thrive San Antonio is looking for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian with 3-5 years of experience to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

Responsibilities

You’ll provide emergency care for sick and injured patients while also managing hospitalized cases. You’ll assess and diagnose patients, develop and oversee treatment plans, and partner closely with technicians to ensure high-quality execution of care. Your work will include performing surgeries, delivering critical care, and maintaining an exceptional standard of service for every patient who enters our emergency department.

About Thrive San Antonio

Thrive San Antonio is a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital with a 30-year history in the community. We are the second ER facility to obtain Fear-free certification in the Country. The hospital is equipped with complete blood work capabilities, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT, MRI, hemoperfusion, ventilator, and linear accelerator. We currently have specialty services including critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery and radiation oncology with diagnostic imaging starting in Fall of 2026. We have an established staff with low turnover in our DVM population and provide an emergency veterinary internship for over 10 years.

Experience & Skills

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) or equivalent degree required
• State Veterinary Board License: active and in good standing for the state of intended employment; obtained prior to start date
• Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligibility
• Experience in emergency medicine or completion of small animal rotating or emergency internships is highly recommended
