The Job

Part‑time Emergency Veterinarian

What You’ll Do

• Answer medical questions over the phone
• See patients immediately as part of VEG Triage and VEG Spikes, our customer‑centered approach
• Gather signalment, presenting complaint, vitals, and physical exam data
• Perform physical examinations, ultrasounds, X‑rays, bloodwork, biopsies, and other investigative procedures
• Diagnose each case and develop a diagnostic and therapeutic plan
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment options directly with customers
• Prepare and present estimates to customers
• Create and review medical records to ensure accuracy
• Explain test and treatment value to customers and address concerns
• Perform minor and major emergency surgeries
• Perform endoscopic procedures
• Educate customers on after‑care and preventive measures where appropriate

What You Need

• DVM or equivalent degree
• Experience in emergency medicine, including soft‑tissue emergency surgery and endoscopy
• Team‑oriented mindset; collaborative across hospital functions
• Physical stamina: standing for prolonged periods, kneeling, floor work, lifting up to 25 kg alone and up to 40 kg with assistance
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as‑needed basis
• Adaptability in a fast‑paced, diverse environment
