Salary Range: $150,000.00 – $240,000.00 Base + Commission/year

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinarian to join our Emergency & Critical Care team as a Clinical Mentor. This role combines the practice of high-quality emergency medicine with the opportunity to support and develop less experienced emergency doctors.

Position Overview

This position is designed for an experienced emergency veterinarian who enjoys mentoring and developing other doctors while maintaining an active clinical caseload.

The Clinical Mentor serves as a resource for less experienced ER doctors by providing case guidance, clinical support, and real-time feedback while helping maintain a high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a full emergency caseload including triage, diagnostics, treatment planning, and case management
  • Provide clinical support and guidance to ER doctors on shift
  • Assist with case discussions and medical decision-making
  • Support the development of newer emergency veterinarians
  • Perform emergency procedures including centeses, CPR, wound repair, and stabilization
  • Interpret diagnostics including laboratory work, radiographs, and point-of-care ultrasound
  • Communicate effectively with clients, specialists, and referring veterinarians
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Maryland
  • Significant emergency medicine experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in mentoring and developing other veterinarians
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Schedule

  • Combination of day, swing, and overnight shifts
  • Shared weekend rotation
  • Full-time position
