Unit Details

• 21-bed Emergency Department + 6-bed annex
• Treats patients of all ages
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Tech-to-patient ratio: 1:8
• First-time travelers welcome
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• TNCC/TNS
• CPI or MOAB

Required Skills

• Strong critical care skill set
• Ability to care for patients across all age groups
• Experience in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment

Support Staff

• Charge nurse with reduced patient assignment
• 24/7 in-house Hospitalist and ED Physician coverage
• HUC support available 24/7
• Phlebotomy assistance for peripheral blood draws
• Nursing station telemetry monitoring

Technology

• EMR: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• Monitoring Equipment: GE Monitors

Scheduling

• Weekend rotation: 1 weekend per month
• No call required
• No holiday requirement
• Up to 7 days of approved time off
• Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow
