Carilion Clinic and the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine are seeking a full-time Emergency Psychiatry Physician for weekend day shifts in Roanoke, Virginia. This role involves assessing patients of all ages with psychiatric illnesses in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. The physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and may provide consult liaison support to the general hospital.

Responsibilities
- Assess patients of all ages who present to the ED with psychiatric illnesses
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess and care for patients in the ED
- Provide consult liaison support to the general hospital in the event of a psychiatric emergency
- Provide psychiatric care in a fast-paced ED environment
Compensation
- Salary Range: $301,875 to $450,000
- Eligible to participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs
- Sign on bonus

Shift & Schedule
- Weekend day shift
- 3 12-hour shifts, plus 4 hours of administrative/research time
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited medical school
- ABPN board certification or eligibility
- Successful completion of accredited residency in Psychiatry
- One year post-residency clinical experience in an acute care psychiatric setting (preferred)
- Ability to obtain licensure in Virginia
- Skilled in interpersonal communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with patients and families
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
