Overview
The Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is launching a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. The founding Program Director will build the curriculum, faculty, and operating structure from the ground up while ensuring ACGME compliance and clinical excellence.
Opportunity Details
- Lead the development of all program components from clinical rotations to accreditation processes.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate inaugural resident cohorts, fostering a culture of diversity and high performance.
- Develop and implement a cutting‑edge curriculum, evidence‑based education initiatives, and research opportunities.
- Practice in high‑acuity environments across Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital, including LevelI Trauma, Stroke, Burn, and STEMI/PCI centers.
- Collaborate with academic partners at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and national programs in Ultrasound, Simulation, Toxicology/Addiction Care, and Public Health.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted NYS medical license.
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine.
- Minimum five years of attending physician experience.
- Eligibility for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.
- Demonstrated scholarly contribution, national presentations, or publications.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual base salary: $352,500 (Board Certified) for a 40‑hour work week. Total compensation, including bonus, 401(k) matching, CME reimbursement, and paid time off, is estimated at $427,750.
- Projected bonus up to $40,000 based on quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) company contribution: 3% immediately vested; 7% after one year.
- Annual CME reimbursement and extensive paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays, CME days).

- Life insurance equal to 2x salary (up to $300,000) with no cost; additional voluntary coverage available.
