Emergency Medicine Physician

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, diagnose, perform history and physical examinations, and provide initial treatment to patients of all age groups presenting to the emergency department.

Shift & Schedule

• 24-hour shifts.
• 5 shifts per month, totaling 1,440 hours per year.
• 20+ days off a month.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of an Emergency Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• BE/BC in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the ABMS, AOA, or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from residency completion.
• Experience can be demonstrated by residency log (for recent graduates) or a quality profile from current hospital privileges showing clinical activity for the past 12 months.
• Must demonstrate active practice in the emergency department in the past 12 months with a census equal to or exceeding 3,000 patient visits annually.
