Emergency Medicine Physician

UPMC Somerset is currently seeking a qualified Emergency Medicine Physician to join their team at a 111-bed acute-care hospital. The department delivers around-the-clock emergency care, providing immediate treatment for medical or surgical emergencies, life-saving procedures, and care for patients of all ages. Providers work collaboratively within a supportive clinical environment designed to prioritize physician wellness.

Practice Info

• The Department of Emergency Medicine provides emergency care 24 hours a day
• Space is staffed with critical care trained; ACLS and PALS certified nursing staff
• Emergency care at these facilities includes the immediate treatment of any medical or surgical emergency, the initiation of life-saving procedures in all types of emergency situations and the provision of emergency care for chronic medical conditions and minor illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages
• UPMC focuses on physician wellness that includes staffing ratios of generally less than two patients per hour
• UPMC Somerset is a 111 bed acute-care hospital, which offers a wide variety of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and preventative care services for the residents of Somerset County and the surrounding region

Responsibilities

• Physician will treat patients in Emergency Room to ensure proper injury care and disease diagnosis
• Physician must be able to evaluate a variety of acuity, think and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis and determine the appropriate course of treatment
• Physician will work as part of a team with providers and other members of the emergency staff

Requirements
