Emergency Medicine Physician

Sanford Health is seeking a residency-trained, BC/BE Emergency Medicine physician to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a Level I Verified Adult & Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with a high volume of annual visits. The position emphasizes providing world-class healthcare in America's heartland, supported by a large rural health system.

Practice Info

• Level I Verified Adult & Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Average 45,000+ annual visits
• 32 beds with 3 large trauma bays
• 24/7 double Physician coverage and triple covered 5p-2a
• APP's are utilized 12 hrs/day, 7 days/wk
• Adult & Pediatric Hospitalists take unassigned patients

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, diagnose, perform history and physical examinations and provide initial treatment to patients of all age groups, who present to the emergency department with any symptom, illness, injury, or condition

Shift & Schedule

• Work an average of 15 (8-9 hour) shifts per month

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of an Emergency Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• If not board certified at the time of application but have completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
• Demonstrate active practice in the emergency department in the past 12 months with a census equal to or exceeding 3,000 patient visits annually
