Emergency Medicine Physician

Sanford Health is seeking BE/BC Emergency Medicine trained physicians to join its multi-specialty practice at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center. This role offers the opportunity to provide world-class healthcare in America's heartland, working in a Level IV Verified Trauma Center. The position involves assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients of all ages in the emergency department.

• Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center is a Level IV Verified Trauma Center with an average of 7500+ annual visits.
• The emergency department features 7 exam rooms and 2 Trauma Rooms.
• Available onsite equipment includes ultrasound - Sonosite Edge and glidescope.
• Ancillary services include Anesthesia, Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery, Diagnostic Testing (Echo, OB-Gyn, Orthopedics, Respiratory Therapy, Vascular, Stress, US), Radiology, Lab, and Pharmacy.
• The 48-bed medical center opened in 2012 and has an attached clinic with 12 specialties and additional outreach services.
• The practice serves a large referral area, drawing from the entire northeastern area of the state.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, diagnose, perform history and physical examinations and provide initial treatment to patients of all age groups, who present to the emergency department with any symptom, illness, injury, or condition.

Shift & Schedule

• 120 shifts/year
• 12-hour shifts
• 10 shifts/month

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Experience can be demonstrated by providing a residency log for applicants who have just completed a residency.
• Applicants not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where they currently have privileges showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
• Applicants must be able to demonstrate active practice in the emergency department in the past 12 months with a census equal to or exceeding 3,000 patient visits annually.
• Successful completion of an Emergency Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training.
• BE/BC Emergency Medicine trained physicians.
• H-1B and J-1 visa sponsorship available.
