We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for locum tenens coverage in Loxahatchee, Florida. This role is due to higher-than-anticipated patient volumes and requires additional physician coverage for ongoing PM shifts. The position offers a collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.
Practice Info
- Patient population: Adult patients only (dedicated pediatric emergency department)
- Emergency Department Bays: 33
- Patient Volume: Approximately 1.8-2.0 patients per hour
- Admission Rate: 26-30%
- Trauma Designation: Non-Trauma Center
- Staffing Model: 3-4 Emergency Medicine Physicians per shift, 3 Advanced Practice Providers, Full emergency department nursing and ancillary support staff
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide variety of emergent and urgent medical conditions
- Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated
- Stabilize patients requiring admission or transfer to higher levels of care
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel to deliver high-quality patient care
- Complete accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record
- Maintain compliance with departmental protocols and quality standards
Shift & Schedule
- Shift Length: Primarily 10-hour shifts
- Coverage Needed: PM Shifts
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
- Minimum of 6 months of Emergency Medicine experience
- Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain licensure
- Current DEA registration
- Excellent clinical decision-making and procedural skills
