Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens
  • Provide emergency medical evaluation, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment for patients across all age groups.
  • Manage a diverse patient population including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Deliver high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced clinical environment with an average patient volume of 12-20 patients per shift.
  • Evaluate and treat a wide range of acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies.
  • Manage varying levels of patient acuity and determine appropriate treatment plans and disposition.
  • Provide emergent obstetric care and coordinate transfers for high-risk or complicated cases when necessary.
  • Perform medical decision-making regarding admissions, discharges, observation, and transfers to higher levels of care.
  • Utilize diagnostic resources including laboratory testing, imaging, ultrasound, and EKG interpretation.
  • Collaborate closely with nurse practitioners, nursing staff, medical assistants, and ancillary personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Coordinate ground and air transportation for patients requiring specialty or advanced care services.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely documentation within the medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support patient safety efforts.
  • Respond effectively to critical care situations and medical emergencies.
  • Utilize evidence-based medicine and established clinical protocols when managing patients.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, consultants, and healthcare team members regarding treatment plans and follow-up needs.
  • Ensure continuity of care through proper handoff communication and care coordination.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, credentialing, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support a collaborative, patient-centered approach to emergency medicine.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Minimum three years of Emergency Department physician experience preferred.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • PALS certification required or willingness to obtain.
  • ATLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
  • Comfortable managing emergency obstetric cases in a limited-resource environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Clean NPDB report.
  • Successful completion of required background checks and medical screenings.

$250-$300 per hour
