A high-volume Emergency Department in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Locums Emergency Medicine Physician to join its experienced clinical team.   • High-volume Emergency Department in Kansas City, Missouri
  • Average daily census of approximately 106 patients
  • Annual admission rate of approximately 34%
  • Provides care for a broad range of emergency conditions, including high-acuity and critically ill patients, trauma cases (including penetrating trauma), complex medical emergencies, and patients requiring transfers and specialty care
  • Practice environment includes high procedural volume and significant transfer activity from surrounding facilities
  • Occasional psychiatric evaluations utilizing telehealth technology

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients presenting with emergency medical conditions
  • Perform all standard Emergency Department procedures
  • Stabilize critically ill and injured patients
  • Manage complex cases and coordinate transfers when appropriate
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
  • Provide timely, evidence-based emergency care and accurate medical documentation

Shift & Schedule

  • Providers must be flexible to work days, nights, and weekends
  • No call required
  • Available physician shifts include: 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
  • Active Missouri medical license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Current DEA registration
  • ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS certifications as required
