Emergency Medicine Physician

A healthcare facility in Englewood, FL, is seeking a flexible and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity. This role involves providing high-quality, timely care to patients with acute medical needs in a dynamic and patient-focused Emergency Department. The physician will evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergency conditions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and effective treatment. This position requires the ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts.

Practice Info

• Emergency Department has an annual volume of 20,000 visits.
• Supported by 24-hour daily physician coverage with 12-hour shifts.
• Phlebotomy services are available during surges, sepsis or stroke alerts, and difficult cases.
• Facility provides advanced imaging services, including MRI, CT scans, X-ray, and ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, timely care to patients presenting with acute medical needs.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emergency medical conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and effective treatment.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as imaging and laboratory tests to guide clinical decisions and deliver appropriate care.
• Accurately and promptly document patient care in alignment with the facility's protocols to ensure continuity of care and compliance with established guidelines.

Shift & Schedule

• Ability to work day, night, and weekend shifts.
• 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) or Family Practice/Internal Medicine with at least two years of current Emergency Medicine experience.
• Strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Active Florida medical license and DEA certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications are highly preferred.
