Onsite Part Time Healthcare & Medical

The Opportunity

Part-time and PRN emergency shifts at a 137-bed community hospital in suburban Kansas City. About 54 visits a day, two daytime APPs on with you, and a department with Primary Stroke and Certified Chest Pain Center accreditation behind it. Predictable enough to walk into cold, supported enough that a busy stretch doesn't become a crisis. Take the blocks that fit your life.

What You'll Own

  • A department you can pick up cold steady volume, clear pathways, APPs already on.
  • 12-hour shifts with two daytime APPs alongside you.
  • Accredited stroke and chest pain pathways , so time-critical care is protocolised rather than improvised.
  • On-campus surgical and orthopaedic backup.

Must-Haves

  • MD or DO
  • ABEM or AOBEM board certification
  • Missouri license, or eligibility in process

Nice to Have

  • Existing Missouri license faster to credentialing
  • Availability for night or weekend blocks
  • Epic familiarity

What Working Here Is Actually Like

  • Per-shift compensation discussed directly. You'll get a real number on the first call.
  • Malpractice and tail covered on part-time and PRN shifts too , not only on the full-time lines.
  • Epic with Dragon. Charting closes out at the end of the shift, not at home at 11pm.
  • Credentialing handled by a team that does this constantly.
  • No minimum annual commitment.
  • Physician-owned and physician-managed since 2012. When you escalate a problem, it reaches a physician who still works clinical shifts.
  • Licensure is faster than you expect if you're coming from out of state. Missouri participates in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, so if you already hold a qualifying license elsewhere, adding this one typically runs one to three weeks rather than months.

Straight Talk

Part-time here still means owning the department for your shift there is one physician on at a time. The APPs are genuine support, but the decisions are yours. That suits people with community ED experience and frustrates people looking for a gentle re-entry.

About Inhospital Physicians (IHP): IHP is a physician-owned and physician-managed group, headquartered in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania and operating since 2012, running Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Intensivist and post-acute programs for acute-care hospitals, LTACHs and health systems across multiple states. IHP is not a locums agency; these are ongoing program positions with stable, named teams.
