Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Urgent Care Locums Ongoing Coverage

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking NP/PA providers with urgent care or emergency medicine experience for an ongoing locums opportunity in Pennsylvania. This is a great opportunity for providers who are comfortable treating patients of all ages and working independently in a busy urgent care setting.

• 5 FTE providers needed
• Schedule: Monday Sunday, 8:00 AM 8:00 PM
• Approximately 20 shifts/month
• No call
• Provider will work independently/solo with no physician supervision
• Providers will rotate between multiple affiliated urgent care locations , all within approximately 30 miles of one another
• Drive-in candidates only candidates should live within a 2 3 hour driving radius
• Average patient volume: 3 4 patients per hour
• Sites typically staffed with 1 3 providers per day
• EMR: Epic

Providers will manage a typical urgent care patient population, including:

• Cold and flu symptoms
• Rashes
• Abrasions and lacerations
• Sprains and minor orthopedic injuries
• Minor burns
• Wound care and I&Ds
• Splinting
• X-rays and EKGs
• Drawing blood and starting IVs
• Patients requiring a higher level of care will be referred to the local emergency department

• All ages
• Must be comfortable treating pediatric patients age 6 months and older

• BC/BE
• Active Pennsylvania license
• PA DEA
• PA CSR
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Must have either:
  • 2+ years of urgent care experience , or
  • 1+ year of emergency medicine experience
• Must be comfortable working independently without supervision
• Must be comfortable performing orthopedic procedures, including splinting
• Strong wound care experience required
