RWJBarnabas Health and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are seeking a clinical leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in Newark, NJ.
RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated health care delivery system in New Jersey, seeks a board‑certified Emergency Medicine Physician to lead the Emergency Medicine Department at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The department includes a 3‑year ACGME accredited residency program with 24 residents, as well as pediatric, EMS, disaster, simulation, and ultrasound fellowships. A separate pediatric ED and Rapid Diagnostic Unit staff ED physicians, and a fast track intake area for lower acuity patients.
The Chair will practice within the department, oversee all clinical activity, provide leadership and support for academic activities, supervise residents, and serve as faculty in the training program. The Chair will create policies to improve quality and safety and grow the department.
Requirements
- Strong clinical leader with experience driving improvements in quality and safety
- Commitment to academic excellence including prior experience in resident education and clinical research
- At least 5 years of academic leadership experience
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong clinical background, and ability to maintain clinical quality standards
- Preferred academic clinical background
Salary
Anticipated salary range: $350,000 to $480,000 per year. Compensation will be based on education, skills, and experience.
