Qualifications Needed
Port Matilda Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for the position of EMS Captain. The EMS Captain will be responsible for overall administration of Port Matilda EMS, a rural EMS Agency covering 5 municipalities with a call volume of approximately 600 calls/year.
Qualifications:
—Current Pennsylvania licensure as an EMT, Paramedic, or higher PA Pre-Hospital level, must hold a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License,
—Current CPR, Hazmat, and Emergency Vehicle Operator Certifications. ICS 100, 200, either current or to be completed within 30 days of hire.
—Must be in general good health and demonstrate professional behavior and leadership skills, and be capable of reading, writing, and comprehending reports.
Education
Minimal High School diploma or GED. An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Experience Level
Minimum 5 years’ experience in both EMS and administrative duties
Responsibilities
Duties will include day-to-day operations, staff and fleet oversight, budget implementation, and interaction with other emergency response agencies, health care services, and municipal representatives.
The job will require a mix of operational and administrative time.
The EMS Captain will function under and be directly responsible to an external Port Matilda EMS Board of Directors.
