Emergency Managment Director

The City of Wabasha is seeking a part-time Emergency Management Director to lead the City of Wabasha in preparing for and responding to emergencies and disasters, with scheduling flexibility based on assigned tasks and deadlines. Hours would average 4-5 hours per week or 16 – 20 hours per month. A full job description and details is linked: EM Director 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Emergency Management Director for the City
• Act as the representative for the City of Wabasha in regards to any recovery efforts during and after a declared disaster.
• Manage assets and request for reimbursements to FEMA , prepare City to track assets
• Provide support to Reception Center Grant and training, in coordination with Public Works Director
• Oversee emergency management plan and updates to the plan
• Submit annual reports
• Apply for and manage grants

Desirable Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in emergency management, criminal justice, safety/health, project management, or related field
• At least two years work experience in related field.
• Must possess or obtain State of Minnesota Emergency Management Certification within two years of hiring

Salary is $7000 per year.
