Provides patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team, utilizing clinical judgment to diagnose and treat health responses. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning and patient education. Coordinates care activities across disciplines and ensures documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities Include

  • Assessment: Conducts comprehensive multi-system assessments, identifies deviations, and reassesses throughout hospitalization.
  • Planning: Develops individualized care plans, coordinates care and discharge, delegates tasks appropriately, and establishes patient care priorities.
  • Implementation: Initiates management measures per protocols, documents care accurately, administers medications, and responds effectively in emergencies.
  • Evaluation: Reviews assessment methods, care plans, and patient responses, participating in quality assurance activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum nine months of RN experience, with at least one year in emergency department or completion of a related internship program.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licenses and certifications: RN license (Oregon), BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale within specified timeframes, and pediatric life support certifications.
  • Computer skills required.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous healthcare experience and a Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • Certifications such as CEN and TNCC preferred.
  • Ability to recognize cardiac dysrhythmias, communicate effectively, and work within nursing standards.
