Responsibilities
- Serve as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) on a full-time basis under the supervision of the Unit Director and with responsibility to the Chief Nursing Officer.
- Apply the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients in the Emergency Department.
- Interact effectively with patients, significant others, and the health care team.
- Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of a state-approved RN school of nursing.
- Training/Experience: Previous ED experience is preferred but not required.
- Job Knowledge: Basic knowledge of the nursing process and related principles; basic knowledge of biology and chemistry; basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology; thorough knowledge of nursing procedures; ability to communicate effectively with team members.
