Emergency Department Chief

The University of Rochester, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking a dedicated physician faculty member to lead the Emergency Department at Jones Memorial Hospital. Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and teach residents and medical students
• Participate in monthly division meetings, assigned administrative functions, and institutional committees
• Develop and implement departmental quality improvement and peer review programs
• Advise hospital administrative staff regarding departmental policies, procedures, and programs
• Advise the hospital on the acquisition of equipment and supplies for the department
• Participate in relevant medical staff department and committee meetings
• Coordinate with designated provider scheduler to ensure safe staffing at all times
• Make recommendations to the hospital concerning medical staff appointment, reappointment, staff classification, delineation of clinical privileges, and required levels of supervision for practitioners in the department

Compensation

• Compensation range: $33,280 - $500,000
• Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries
• Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process

Qualifications

• BE/BC in Emergency Medicine
• NYS Medical License
• Satisfactory completion of a health screening exam
• Pre-placement TB test
• Full cooperation in completing screening for the illegal use of drugs
• Open to visa sponsorship
