A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.Scope of the Position: Embedded Software Engineer in Allen Park, MI.This successful candidate will translate customer and product requirements to software architecture specifications, develop the embedded software and validate system functions in safety critical electronic modules developed for automotive OEM customers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and integration of embedded software for automotive electronic control units (ECUs)Translate customer specifications into software requirements and system architectureExecute the Flex-N-Gate Product Development Process to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standardsCollaborate cross-functionally with customers, program managers, and engineering teams to define and refine product requirementsAnalyze system requirements, design software architecture, implement code, and verify real-time embedded systemsDevelop and support software validation strategies, including manufacturing, EMC, and environmental testingDrive continuous improvement of software tools, methodologies, and development processes to enhance product quality and customer satisfactionSupport troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of software-related issuesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)Minimum 5 years of experience in real-time embedded software development, preferably in safety-critical automotive applicationsStrong programming expertise in C, C++, and assembly language, with experience in scripting languagesSolid understanding of automotive electrical systems, including analog/digital circuits and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C)Familiarity with software development standards and processes such as ASPICEKnowledge of functional safety and related standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448) and automotive cybersecurity (ISO 21434) is highly desirableExperience controlling DC motors and stepper motors is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environmentExcellent communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office toolsWillingness to travel up to 10% within North AmericaWhat We Offer• Medical, dental, prescription, vision, life and disability insurance; and a flexible spending account • 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match • Extensive safety training, new hire orientation, continuous learning and development programs and tuition reimbursement • Paid holidays and vacation time What do our employees have to say?
