You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-discipline engineering teams in the Center of Excellence and the circuit Protection Division, distributed around the world.As a senior technical contributor, you will:Responsible to execute full Hardware development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification for electronics-based circuit protection productsArchitect and design hardware subsystems including: Driver circuits, Protection & sensing circuits, Metering systems, Communication interfaces, Human-machine interfacesTranslate product requirements into robust technical specifications in collaboration with marketing and applications teamsExecute hardware design, validation, and qualification testingPartner with controls teams to develop and validate fault management algorithms using HIL platformsOwn detailed development planning, requirements traceability, and issue trackingConduct and participate in formal design and quality reviewsDrive technical excellence and innovation, including IP generationCollaborate with R&D, Electrical and Industrial Sector Centers of Excellence, national labs, and universitiesOperate within Eaton's phase-gate new product development processesQualifications:Basic Qualifications (Must Haves):Bachelors' degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, power electronics, systems engineering or mechanical engineering with an electrical and/or controls specializationMinimum of 10 years of experience in new product developmentMinimum of 7 years of experience architecting, designing or developing embedded electronic productsMust be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the futurePreferred QualificationsExperience in solid-state or hybrid circuit breaker control systemsProficiency layout tools: Altium, Alegro (Cadence)Experience with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee/Matter)Familiarity with project tracking tools (Jira, JAMA)Experience transitioning designs into production environmentsExperience working in multi-disciplinary development teamsSkills:Technical knowledgeCircuit Design & Simulation: Proficient in high-speed, digital, mixed-signal, and analog circuit design using tools like PSpice, LTSpice, and ModelSim. Knowledge for various Communication protocols like USB, SPI, I2C, wireless Proficiency in simulation tools like PSpice, LTSpice, Model-Sim. Familiarity with microcontroller and processor families, embedded power architectures. Proven experience in system/hardware architecture, topology definition, or platform-level design. Led multiple medium-to-high complexity projects from concept to commercialization, including POC, verification, validation, and certification to global standards. Proficient in PCB design, component selection, schematic creation, product testing, prototype development, and industrialization. Deep knowledge of UL, IEC, and NEC standards.
Experienced in EMI/EMC analysis, filter design, Lifecycle & Architecture Ownership: Led full hardware development lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, verification, validation, and certification. Strong communicator and influencer, proposing innovative solutions, managing schedules, and protecting IP through patents/disclosures. Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) Communication Protocols & PCB Design: Strong grasp of digital interfaces and protocols (RS232, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, Modbus, BACNet, CAN, etc), schematic entry, and PCB design for EMI/EMC compliance. Skilled in hardware validation, physical layer testing, and power systems analysis, with excellent cross-cultural collaboration capabilities.
