ELL Paraprofessional II - Holman Middle School -
Salary:
  • $17.81 - $24.43 per hour
  • Pay band I300
  • Pay rate is determined by years of experience, on a step per year basis (Hourly Support Staff Salary Schedule)
Job Summary:
  • This is a 9.5 month position, 7 hours per day - 87.50%
  • Monday-Friday

Qualifications:
  • Ability to organize and assist with classroom lessons and materials in a variety of subject areas
  • Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used in teaching and supporting English learners
  • Desire to work with and educate middle school students in small groups and individually
  • Desire to work with and follow direction from content area teachers and specialists in classroom settings
  • Ability to motivate and encourage others, be creative, flexible, and patient
  • Fluent Spanish-speaker preferred
  • In order to work under the direct supervision of an appropriately certified teacher to provide instructional assistance, paraprofessionals are require to:
    • Obtain 60 college credit hours, or
    • Have passed the ParaPro Assessment (before September 23, 2013) or
    • Have passed the Paraprofessional Assessment through Pearson (September 23, 2013 through June 20, 2024) or
    • Have passed the ParaPro Assessment through ETS (July 1, 2024 forward) or
    • Completed the 20HR Substitute Certificate Course
