Summary: The Elevator Field Technician is to carry out maintenance, inspections, repairs, refurbishment, and installations in a cost efficient and profitable manner while achieving high quality standards and workmanship. Elevator Field Technicians will work closely with other Service Technicians, Project Technicians, customers, and report directly to the Service Manager or the Installation Manager.Duties & Responsibilities:Work on mechanical repair, field refurbishment, and installation jobs on elevator equipmentPerform maintenance and inspections on company's various brands of productsPerform mechanical repairs and field modernization solutionsAttend emergency breakdowns, identify repair mechanical faultsDocument service and reporting in systemInteract with customers and vendors as neededFollow all safety policies, company policies, and use all required PPEOther duties as assigned by managementRequirements & Qualifications:Strong mechanical and electrical aptitudeKnowledge of electrical/mechanical theory strongly desiredAble to read and interpret technical documentationExperience installing conduit, running, and terminating wireKnowledge in troubleshooting AC and DC voltage circuitsProficient in troubleshooting circuitry including contacts, relays, and other electronic devicesKnowledge of actuators, hydraulics, and mechanical components is preferredKnowledge working with Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of hand tools and power toolsAble to work flexible hoursAble to travel for extended periods of time, travel required up to 100%Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsMust have current valid US Driver's LicenseMust be over the age of 25 for auto insurance purposesMust meet the criteria to be insurable under client auto insurance policyMust have current, valid TWIC CardMust be able to acquire US PassportMust be able to pass relevant: background check, motor vehicle report, physical and drug/alcohol testsMust be willing, able to, and be comfortable working in extreme heightsHigh school diploma or equivalentExperience in a similar field strongly desiredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to climb all structure typesMust be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbsMust be able to work in all weather conditions including inclement weatherMust be able to comfortably work at extreme heightsMust be able to work in enclosed spacesMust be able to sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, bend, squat, kneel, climb, balance, stoop, crawl, and crouch for extended periods of timeMust be able to drive for extended periods of timeMust be able to use hand tools and power toolsMust be able to visually inspect equipmentCompany provides full benefits, company car, credit card, cell phone and laptop.
