Elementary School Teacher
Urbana School District 116 is seeking an elementary school teacher. The teacher will work under the general direction of the principals or assistant principals. The main responsibility is to help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible adults.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with correct licensure and endorsements. Two to three years of teaching experience at the elementary level is preferred, except in the case of a new college graduate. A valid Illinois teaching license with the appropriate endorsements for the position is required.
Salary is based on a step placement determined by education, experience, and the Urbana Education Association and Board of Education contract. Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
