PITTSFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS OPEN POSITIONS Certified Full-Time Elementary Teachers Grades: 1, 2, 3, 4 Start Date: August 2026 OUR DISTRICT & COMMUNITY Located in the largest city in Berkshire County, Pittsfield Public Schools serves approximately 5,000 PreK-12 students across 14 schools, and we proudly embrace and celebrate the diversity of our students and families. We offer employees competitive salaries, a comprehensive insurance package, state and private retirement options, course reimbursement, paid professional development, and a variety of health and wellness opportunities. Under the leadership of our new superintendent, the district is pursuing a wide range of initiatives to improve educational quality, employee support, and work-life balance. Renowned for its natural beauty, the Berkshires combine small-town New England charm with a rich cosmopolitan cultural life. Nearby towns like Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington offer local shops, farm-to-table dining, and vibrant arts communities, and the region boasts state forests, hiking trails, lakes, festivals, museums, galleries, and a variety of world-class cultural institutions such as Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra), MASS MoCA, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. THE OPPORTUNITY Conte Community School is a PK-4 public school that serves approximately 380 students. With a target student-teacher ratio of 15:1, our small class sizes allow teachers to personalize instruction, prioritize academic growth, and build genuine relationships with their students. Our school is one of the most diverse elementary schools in the region, and we believe that every student-regardless of background, ability, or circumstance-deserves an educational experience that values them, challenges them, and prepares them to succeed in adult life. We are looking for passionate, mission-driven teachers who are deeply committed to their students, who want to join a close-knit team of educators invested in their success, and who are passionate about culturally responsive instruction, social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and family involvement in the learning process. Among our programs designed to enhance instruction and support teacher creativity, we partner with local organizations, such as Mass Audubon, to provide hands-on, experiential, place-based learning experiences grounded in ecological literacy. It's an exciting time to work at Conte. We have a new leadership team in place this year, and we're focused on building a culture of belonging, joy, and celebration, and giving our educators and staff opportunities to have a real voice in school governance.
