Elementary Assistant Principal
White Settlement ISD Blue Haze Elementary – Fort Worth, Texas.
Overview
Assist the school principal in the overall administration of instructional programs and campus-level operations. Coordinate student activities and services. Support a positive school climate conducive to high student achievement, staff collaboration, and community engagement.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in educational administration or related field
- Valid Texas principal certification (or mid-management certification)
- T‑TESS appraisal certification or willingness to obtain
- Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level
- Leadership experience preferred (team lead, instructional coach, committee chair)
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Leadership
- Monitor the implementation of curriculum and instruction
- Participate in data analysis and campus improvement planning
- Observe classroom instruction and provide coaching/feedback to teachers
- Lead professional learning communities and staff development initiatives
Student Management
- Implement campus discipline procedures in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and counselors to support student behavior and social‑emotional needs
- Coordinate student activities, arrival/dismissal procedures, and supervision schedules
Personnel Management
- Assist in recruiting, selecting, and orienting new staff
- Support the appraisal and growth of instructional staff
- Monitor staff attendance and substitute coverage
School Operations
- Support campus operations, including schedules, testing coordination, transportation, safety drills, and special events
- Serve on or lead campus committees and initiatives
- Communicate with parents and community members on behalf of the campus
Other
- Perform duties as assigned by the principal or district administration
- Comply with all district policies, state and federal laws, and campus procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise certified and non‑certified staff and volunteers as assigned.
Working Conditions
Mental Demands: Ability to handle stress, coordinate multiple tasks, problem solve, and work with a diverse population.
Physical Demands: Regular walking, standing, sitting, lifting up to 25 lbs.
Environment: May require evening and weekend work; fast‑paced school setting.
