Electronics TechnicianThe Electronics Technician performs tests on electronic components to support Product Development. This individual will also be called on to set up tests and test equipment to support product development, and perform maintenance on equipment. Technicians will also diagnose and troubleshoot problems with S&S electronic components as they arise, providing detailed reports of findings and recommendations for improvements.Essential Functions:Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategyEstablish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutionsPresent and maintain positive morale amongst employeesPrototyping, testing, and troubleshooting circuits and wiring systems including test equipmentDocument test results using Google SuiteSolder surface mount and through hole componentsMaintain inventory of electrical supplies and related tools/equipmentPrototype motorcycle/vehicle wiring harnesses as well as sourcing components and assist and/or lead design of production harnessesTesting of new electrical/electronic designs (both hardware and software)When needed, assist in troubleshooting and repair of electrical/electronic systems for Product Development test equipment (i.e.

engine test cell equipment)Assists with establishing test requirementsProvide assistance, repair work, and diagnose field test problemsPrototype building of electronic circuitsTesting of returned electrical productsAssist with hardware and software engineers with new productsMaintain a clean, organized and safe lab environmentProvide electronics support for S&S motorcycle test fleet ensuring safe operation and accurate test resultsQualifications:Experienced working as an electrical technician in an engineering role or equivalentMotorcycle and fuel injection experience a plusFlexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standardsHigh analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focusWell organized and self-directedAble to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashionExcellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applicationsFamiliarity with automotive type test equipment, oscilloscope, frequency generator, and DMM useAbility to read schematics and build prototypesData acquisition and schematic capture software experience a plus2 Year electronics-related degree and 2 years of experience; 5 years' experience in lieu of degreeWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements:Work is performed in both an office environment and a testing lab environment, employee will be exposed to various noise levels from equipment, tools, and enginesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must comply with safety equipment standards: safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety toe shoes when present in areas where required
