Electronics TechnicianJoin the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) - Sensor Test and Evaluation Group and be part of a dedicated team enabling electronic solutions for embedded devices. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for soldering, assembling and troubleshooting printed circuit boards for embedded solutions.The Sensor Test and Evaluation Group is looking for an electronics technician to design, develop, test and maintain embedded systems for a variety of applications. The primary application is a custom, wireless, IoT data collection system for recording thermocouple and thermistor temperature information in high temperature manufacturing environment.

Technician will be part of a diverse and skilled technical team developing the prototype system to include design, build, integrate, data collection, user interface, system health, data storage, distributive implementation and network security. Other applications include developing custom sensor interface systems for manufacturing and remote sensing use-cases where size, weight and power must be minimized to accommodate human-carry or unmanned aerial system considerations.Minimum qualifications:HS diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of related experienceExperience with SMD and through-hole component solderingExperience with electrical and mechanical hand toolsExperience building electronic breadboard/prototype circuitsAbility to troubleshoot electronic circuitsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsDue to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S.
