WHY THIS COMPANY
They're adding capacity faster than they can staff it, taking on manufacturing work that used to belong to a global electrical brand, and building new product lines from scratch.
Their gear runs mission-critical facilities - data centers, hospitals, and utilities - the places where the power staying on isn't optional.
Modern equipment, current test gear, and a company that trains, promotes, and invests in its employees.
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years LV/MV switchgear, and/or hipot, and/or Megger (insulation) testing. Prior experience with Fluke multimeters is a plus.
The company manufactures 480V switchgear, so switchgear testing experience is the most preferred of all but not required as the company does train. Having just hipot and/or Megger testing also qualifies you for the position.
JOB TITLES/BACKGROUNDS THAT THE COMPANY HIRES
- Electronics Technician, Electrical Test Technician, NETA Test Technician, QA/QC Technician, Electrical Quality Assurance Technician, Quality Control Inspector, Commissioning Technician, and Field Service Technician
- Journeyman or apprentice electricians who've worked inside panels and gear
- HVAC technicians with real electrical/controls background
- NETA field service techs done living out of a truck
- Military electrical, avionics, or power production veterans
JOB DUTIES
- Test switchgear, breakers, relays, panelboards, and transfer switches before shipment
- Primary and secondary injection on breakers
- Megger and hipot testing, plus contact resistance, timing, and trip tests
- Test relays for correct function and coordination
- Verify every unit against the one-line and the project spec
- PLC work here means uploading a settings file - no programming involved. You'll be testing power distribution equipment, not RF, radio, or antenna systems.
- Document results and flag anomalies to engineering
