Job Title: Electronics System Architect
Location: Remote (trip every month to Las Vegas, NV office)
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of conversion

Job Description
About the role
Aristocrat is looking for a senior systems architect to define the hardware platform behind our next generation of gaming products. You will clear architectural roadblocks, drive key platform decisions and steer the technology development that shapes our future gaming hardware.

This is a system-level role, not a silicon role. You will evaluate and integrate compute, graphics, connectivity and software-platform options from across the industry and turn them into a clear, scalable architecture.

What you'll do
• Author and own the high-level electronics system architecture for future gaming hardware platforms.
• Lead trade-off evaluations and recommend direction on core platform choices:
o Carrier board + compute module vs. single-board computer (SBC)
o ARM vs. x86, and Intel vs. AMD processor platforms
o Discrete and integrated GPU architectures (e.g. Nvidia, AMD, Intel)
o Containerization and virtualization strategies for the platform software stack
o Physical connectivity, peripherals and interconnects (PCIe, USB, display interfaces, high-speed I/O)
• Unblock architectural roadblocks quickly, with clear, data-driven recommendations to engineering and leadership.
• Build proof-of-concept platforms and benchmarks to validate performance, thermal, power, cost and lifecycle assumptions.
• Engage silicon vendors, ODMs and board partners to assess roadmaps, long-term availability and supply risk.
• Partner with hardware, software, game studio, compliance and manufacturing teams to turn architecture into shippable products.
• Set technology roadmaps and architecture standards that scale across product families.

What you bring
• 10+ years in electronics hardware engineering, with significant time as a system or platform architect.
• A track record of authoring high-level system architectures built on ARM, x86, Intel, AMD and Nvidia platforms and microprocessors.
• Hands-on experience choosing between carrier board/COM and SBC approaches for production products.
• Strong working knowledge of GPU architectures and graphics-intensive or embedded compute workloads.
• Practical experience with containers (e.g. Docker) and virtualization or hypervisor technologies on embedded or edge platforms.
• Deep understanding of system interconnects, peripherals and physical connectivity, including signal and power considerations at board level.
• Ability to frame complex trade-offs clearly and drive decisions with senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have
• Experience in gaming, casino or other regulated, long-lifecycle hardware products.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows platform bring-up, BSPs and secure boot.
• Exposure to thermal, EMC and safety compliance for commercial electronics.

Please note: this role does not require chip or silicon design experience. We are looking for a system-level architect who evaluates and integrates platforms, not someone who designs the silicon inside them.
