Electronics Sales EngineerIDEX Fire and Safety (Akron Brass, AWG/Alco, Class1, Godiva, HALE, Hurst, Lukas, Vetter, Weldon) focuses primarily on manufacturing equipment used in municipal fire departments. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Sales Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales of electronic components that control systems in firetrucks, ambulances and other specialty vehicles. This position will focus on achieving year-over-year growth, identifying and penetrating new markets, and ensuring our products meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Additionally, this role will work collaboratively with a product team to gather and analyze Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to guide product development and introduce new products that enhance our market position. Technical expertise and sales acumen will be crucial in building strong customer relationships and delivering tailored solutions that address specific industry challenges.Core Market Focus: electronics sales Fire and Safety markets (Firetruck/Ambulance)Geographic Coverage: USA and support group efforts as necessary in Canada, Middle East, Asia (including China and India), Latin AmericaReports To (Title): Business Line LeaderEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Work independently to identify opportunities that are favorable to advancing the sale and delivery of Weldon Electronics and other IDEX F&S products, into the core markets across North AmericaDevelopment and execution of a business planConduct market research to identify and develop new business opportunities within the fire and safety markets as well as new opportunities outside core marketActively support the team to identify credible opportunities that are favorable to advancing the sale, delivery and commissioning of new and existing productsActively develop, educate and support channel partners, OEMs, and dealers that will drive growth focused in the fire and safety markets we serveProvide strong VOC to the company in order to drive proper growth of our services and business into areas of value to the industry.Look for potential growth opportunities through partnerships, 3rd parties and potential acquisition.Provide actionable intelligence and market feedback accordingly to develop and support strategic initiatives for growth in the electronics market.Recommend and participate in New Product Development initiatives, as applicableProvide market and opportunity updates through company-available reporting toolsAbility and willingness to travel (up to 75%)Knowledge, Skills and Required Abilities:Requires exceptional communication, presentation, and people skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work with short deadlinesAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work in changing environmentsSuperior people skills: Internal and external – including international customers and sales repsTimely response to after sale customer requirementsAnalyze field problems remotely (most times via telephone) and recommend corrective action; both to the customer and AB engineersProficient with Microsoft Office and ExcelAbility to travel with short noticeOffer post-sales support to ensure customer satisfactionEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in sales, engineering, electrical engineering or technology and6+ years' experienceTechnical Sales and support of customer in the fire and safety marketsManaging multiple projects of varying degrees of difficulty at the same timeSelf-motivated, ability to work independently without help or limited supervisionTalking to and expressing ideas to other engineers, internal or external, and be objective yet firm to allow for the best possible outcome on any given situationProven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growthAdditional certifications in sales, marketing, or project management are advantageousStrong technical knowledge of electronic components, control systems, and their application in fire and safety systemsWork Environment:This job may require travel to jobsites.
