Electronics Assembler - SMT & SolderingVPT, Inc., a global leader in providing power conversion solutions for use in avionics, military, space and industrial applications, has an immediate opening for an Electronics Assembler - SMT & Soldering. As an Electronics Assembler you'll assemble, solder, and test high-performance, high-reliability electronic components used in mission-critical systems for aerospace, defense, and advanced industrial applications. You will work hands-on with cutting-edge SMT equipment, collaborate closely with skilled engineers, and take in pride in seeing your craftsmanship power technologies that demand both flawless performance and unwavering dependability.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Setting up, operating, and monitoring automated equipment like Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, pick-and-place (PNP) machines, and soldering systemsReview and assemble products according to assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructionsAssemble components manually using hand tools and bench mounted toolsPerform quality checks, identify defects, and ensure adherence to product specificationsRework or repair parts or assemblies as neededMark products or equipment with identifying informationPerform automated testing and screening of production partsCollaborate with management, engineers, and design staff to ensure accurate buildsDocument work performed and maintain accurate production recordsThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:Strong attention to detailTechnical and mechanical aptitudeProblem-solving mindsetTeam player with excellent communication skillsFamiliarity working in an ESD and FOD-controlled environmentAdaptability to shifting production prioritiesRequired Education and Experience:A high school diploma or GED2 years of general work experienceAbility to interpret schematics, drawings, diagrams, and other visual aids for assemblyExperience using tools to assemble or repair parts/productsExcellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity with small componentsBasic computer skillsFamiliarity with preventive maintenance proceduresPreferred Education and Experience:2+ years of experience with small electronic components and assembliesElectrical/Electronics Engineering Technology/Technician DegreeProficiency with commonly used hand and/or power tools used in a machine shop settingSoldering experience (J-STD or IPC-610 Soldering certification)Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work independentlyBecause of the nature of the position a US person is requiredCompensation is competitive and will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.This is a temporary position with the potential for permanent placement.
