Avionics Complexes TechnicianThe primary purpose of this position is to remove, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, environmental systems, radar, communications, and navigation systems. Serves as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) providing training to assigned personnel in the accomplishment of tasks herein.Duties:Removes, installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns, calibrates, and rebuilds multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.Performs pretest, operational (functional), or final testing of electronic systems, components, or subassemblies.

Complies with security procedures, regulations and policies.Advises engineering personnel on the operation and maintenance effects of proposed Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) and/or modifications on new or existing equipment.Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work area.Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training. Documents/recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data and assists in design changes as necessary.Requirements:U.S. Citizenship RequiredMales must be registered for Selective Service, see security clearance may be requiredIf authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations.
