Joby Aviation Electro-Mechanical TechnicianJoby Aviation is seeking a detail-oriented and passionate electro-mechanical technician to join our powertrain team and help build flight-critical components for our VTOL electric aircraft. Come help us build advanced electrical powertrains as we try to make a mark in the transportation industry.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with engineering to develop and build our latest hardwareAssemble hardware for use on test stands or on aircraft while maintaining associated documentation.

This will involve mechanical assembly of parts and sub-systems, etcDevelop assembly methods and tools on quickly developing designsPerform basic troubleshooting and testing of electromechanical assembliesBuild test setups for R&D labs and perform hardware characterization testsRequiredPrevious experience as NPI (new product introduction) or engineering technicianPerform soldering of through hole and larger pitch componentsHarness fabrication and electronic reworkExperience with industrial environments and proceduresExperience working on high voltage systems and/or complex electromechanical systemsExperience writing and following work instructionsProficiency with machining, Mill & Lathe mid level, welding, and overall mechanical craftsmanshipExperience with instrumentationFamiliarity with CAD and reading engineering drawings4 years hands on lab experience or R&D environmentsWell rounded in all levels of communication, collaboration with engineering to troubleshoot and refine test setups20% travel required between San Carlos, Santa Cruz, Marina, and Concord, CADesiredGeneral understanding of electronic components and circuit principlesBasic circuit knowledge (Ohm's law, reading R, L, C values, current limits)Ability to read electrical schematics, wire harness drawings and assembly drawingsExperience working with basic electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power suppliesAdditional InformationCompensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $36-$52/hr.
