This position is responsible for the electrical and mechanical installation of new equipment as well as repair, inspection, and calibration of existing equipment. This person is also responsible for accurate record keeping and input of data into the plant maintenance management system.Job ResponsibilitiesFollow safe work practices and support safety goals and objectivesMakes all necessary mechanical repairs on equipment including replacement, repair and installation of motors, pumps, sleeves, bearings, gears, shafts, pins, etc.Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment up to 480VPiping installation and ability to determine correct materials for each service.Create, modify, read, and understand piping specification, engineering and electrical drawings.Safe operation of industrial equipment such as forklifts, hoists, and lifts.Instrument repair, calibration and installation including flow meters, pressure transmitters.Troubleshooting, and basic programming of distributed control system and PLCs.Participate on the Emergency Response TeamAssists with managing outside service contractorsMaintains and improves preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
Experience with maintenance management systems.Education RequirementsMinimum Level of Education: High School Diploma/GEDExperience RequirementsMinimum Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years of Industrial electrical/mechanical or equivalent experienceCertification RequirementsCertified Electrician or Craftsman preferred but not requiredSkills, Abilities & Knowledge: Required QualificationsHigh school or equivalent degree3-5 years experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical / production facility or equivalent educational experienceSelf-starter and capable of working in a high paced environmentMust be able to work closely with maintenance and production teamAble to handle up to fifty (50) pounds and physical dexterity to assemble and operate equipmentWorking knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, E-Mail, maintenance management systems)Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Preferred QualificationsJourneymanElectrical and Mechanical experienceExperience in distributed control systems, PLCS, and instrumentationExperience working in a high-performance work cultureFamiliar with Process Safety Management concepts and requirementsCertified WelderSAP maintenance management system experienceWorking RequirementsThe plant currently works two 8 hour Maintenance shifts, Days and afternoons, five days a week. This could change but not currently planned.
