Electromechanical TechnicianThe Electromechanical Technician installs, maintains, and repairs complex electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment while ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Working independently in a fast-paced environment, this position requires technical expertise to manage multiple priorities, minimize downtime, and support production goals through continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role demands strong judgment, efficient troubleshooting skills, and commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:Performs comprehensive electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex manufacturing equipment, including 24V analog/digital circuitry, VFDs, PLCs, and automated systemsExecutes preventive maintenance programs through scheduled inspections, calibrations, and repairs while documenting all activities in computerized maintenance systemsInterprets and works from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic layouts, and technical documentation to diagnose and repair equipmentTests and troubleshoots electrical systems using multi-meters, ammeters, and diagnostic equipmentInstalls, wires, and verifies operation of 3-phase, single-phase, and DC motors according to electrical schematicsImplements and strictly follows safety protocols, including LockOut/TagOut procedures and emergency response proceduresPerforms rigging and lifting operations for heavy equipment components while following safety requirementsMaintains accurate documentation of repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance activitiesCoordinates maintenance activities with production schedules and shift leadership to minimize downtimeProvides technical training and support to operators on equipment operation and basic maintenanceParticipates in continuous improvement initiatives and engineering projectsCollaborates with team members, vendors, and contractors to support maintenance operations and equipment upgradesOther duties as assignedNot in all PPK locationsEducation & Experience:Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology or equivalent experience preferred3+ years of industrial maintenance experience a plusRequired Skills:Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and mechanical blueprintsStrong troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systemsProficiency in computer-based maintenance systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMulti-skilled in all areas of industrial maintenanceAble to use precision measuring equipment such as calipersAble to engage in a team working collaboratively as well as making repairs independentlyMetalworking and welding skills are a plusHVAC experience a plusPrefer to have strong electrical skills including experience with PLCs and drives, troubleshooting control circuitsAdditional Requirements:Must be 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment assessmentDrug screening requiredBackground check requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical systemsExpertise in preventive maintenance practicesProficiency in basic welding and fabrication techniquesUnderstanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulationsHydraulic and pneumatic systemsPLCs and automated control systemsThree-phase and single-phase power systemsMotor controls and servo systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesCritical reasoning and decision makingExcellent organizational and time management skillsEffective verbal and written communicationRoot cause identificationAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to train and mentor othersPhysical Demands:Ability to lift and move up to 50 poundsStanding/walking for extended periodsWorking in various positions (bending, kneeling, reaching)Required to lift, bend, crouch, reach, twist, and crawl.Exposure to manufacturing environment (noise, heat, chemicals)May require working in confined spacesRequired to work in high places.Required to ascend and descend ladders safely.Safely operate mobile equipment.Forklift Boom, scissor certification or ability to obtain certificationAbility to wear ARC flash equipmentAbility to wear respiratory protection as neededAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Travel Requirements:NoneWork Conditions:Noise levels above 85 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes and inksConcrete floors, roof areasWorking at heights, hot workWorks near energized and moving equipmentVariable temperaturesMust be able to work flexible shiftsMay require nights, weekends, and holidays.
