Electro-Mechanical TechnicianOur company is seeking an experienced and skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. The team member in this role will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication/assembly process, creating and interpreting technical documentation, ensuring quality control standards are met, and managing the work of junior technicians. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Job Type: Contract-to-HireResponsibilitiesOversee the fabrication/assembly process of electro-mechanical prototypes from start to finish, ensuring that all work is completed on time and to high-quality standardsRead and interpret technical drawings and schematics to determine fabrication/assembly requirementsOperate basic power tools to fabricate, cut, and shape various materials, such as metal, plastic, and woodManage a team of junior fabricators, providing guidance, training, and direction as neededEnsure that all fabrication work meets quality control standards, and troubleshoot any mechanical or electrical issues that arise during the processCollaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all specifications and requirements are metMaintain accurate records of materials, labor, and equipment used during the fabrication processComply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environmentManage shipping and receiving for components and inspect parts for quality assuranceBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in welding, metal fabrication, or a related field preferredMinimum of 5 years of experience in fabrication or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership roleExtensive knowledge of fabrication techniques, equipment, and materialsStrong understanding of mechanical technical drawings and electrical schematicsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to manage a team of junior fabricators/technicians and provide guidance and direction as neededExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlinesMust be able to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of timeKnowledge of safety regulations and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environmentPreferred Skills & ExperienceTechnical Skills: You should have a strong technical background in metal fabrication or a related field, and be knowledgeable about fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment.
You should have a strong background in troubleshooting electrical systems (actuators, sensors, PCBAs) for primarily DC systems.Attention to Detail: You will be responsible for ensuring that all work meets quality control standards. This requires a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during the fabrication processProblem-Solving Skills: You should be able to analyze problems and find practical solutions to technical challenges.
