The Fleet Ballistic Missile Avionics team is seeking an experienced Electromechanical Harness Engineer who will lead a team of engineers in the development of 3D concept models of space flight avionics Cable and Harnessing and ultimately advance them for flight use. Location: This position does not support teleworking. You will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton or Englewood CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

n

• Lead trade studies on cable and harness design approaches and provide technical data for informal and formal design review documentation and presentations.

n

• Provide leadership on a fast-paced team from requirements through development and production.

n

• Be responsible to ensure coordination between functional groups during the product development life cycle.

n

• Communicate technical status and issues internally to program leadership, technical leadership and functional leadership as well as externally to the customer.

n

• Conducting personnel management for a portion of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Avionics team

n

• Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection, and training.

n

• Responsible for performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

n

• Participate in technical reviews and audits.

n

Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

n

• FBM TMK2 Harness Lead over RF and General Cabling

n

• Develop Cable designs, performance and test requirements, and stress and thermal analysis.

n

• Identify initial physical architecture for the Avionics subsystem.

n

• Conduct R&D trade studies for Pre-SRR design phase.

n

• Leverage LE2 R&D accomplishments to date into the LE2 subsystem architecture concepts as appropriate.

n

• Define the requirements and provide the framework for architecture and interface development & maintenance throughout the program lifecycle.

n

• Generate and release design disclosure artifacts including technical presentations and end of year reports.

n

• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and integration of world class avionics systems.

n

• Participate in iterative design reviews, Engineering Material Review Board (EMRB) hardware discrepancy decisions and Failure Review Board (FRB) as required.

n

• Resolve test anomalies and support system level testing.

n

• You must be able to work autonomously, delivering the work products and being accountable for milestone achievement at a high level of reporting.

n

• To be effective in this role, you will need:

n

• Experience with wire harness and cables design of electricalmechanical interconnects for satellite spacecraft equipment and/or missile systems.

n

• 8+ years professional experience.

n

• While no clearance is needed to start in this position, you will need to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

n

Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

    Proven experience in electrical/mechanical engineering including wire harness/cable design.

    Experience with CAD design.

  • n
  • n

    Willing and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top-Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

    Knowledge of the cable manufacturing processes (connectors, crimping, soldering, forming, testing).

    Experience with QNotes (SAP/ERP), PMP Database, FAST Items, DaSI, and FBM Web (Livelink).

    Previous CPE and MRB experience.

    Ability to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership.

    Experience with subcontracted hardware suppliers.

    Experience performing tolerance stack-ups.

    Exposure to Requalification Activities including MORAs and Supplier Relocations.

    Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
