Under general supervision, the Electro-Mechanic performs skilled electrical/electronic and mechanical work to diagnose, maintain, repair, rebuild, overhaul, service, inspect, and test light rail transit vehicles and equipment.The ideal candidate is a highly skilled and safety-conscious Electro-Mechanic with proven experience maintaining and automotive experience. They demonstrate in-depth knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, analog and digital electronics, control circuitry, and associated mechanical components such as motors, brakes, HVAC, and lighting systems. They are adept at troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling transit vehicles and systems.
The candidate is capable of performing precision electronic tasks such as soldering and harnessing, utilizing shop tools and testing equipment, and interpreting complex technical documents, including service manuals, bulletins, and parts catalogs.
