Job Summary
To perform work in the maintenance, repair, and installation of various types of electrical equipment related to Racine County buildings.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshoot, maintain, repair and install new lighting, motors, power distribution and DDC equipment.
* Troubleshoot, maintain and repair fire alarm systems, security alarm systems and various other building related automation control equipment.
* Conduct monthly emergency generator tests at assigned buildings. As directed inspect test and perform minor maintenance on emergency generating equipment at remote sites.
* Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, electric doors, and cell doors. As necessary replace security system equipment, components, door control touch screen monitors, power supplies etc.
* Test and repair Court's security alarm system as needed.
* As necessary provide additional help to electrical contractors and/or control vendors who may be on site working and/or upgrading equipment.
* Able to review and clearly understand electrical and control schematics and drawings
* As necessary and directed assist other divisions and/or department with electrical needs as authorized.
* Able to respond to after hour emergencies as requested.
* Must be a self-thinker, self-starter and motivated.
* Must be detail oriented and take initiative and stewardship in properly maintaining the county buildings.
* All other job duties as assigned.
Supervision Received: Receives supervision and direction from the Facilities Manager.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED equivalent and one year of post high school education at an accredited school.
* Current Wisconsin Journeyman's electrician's card.
* Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a Journeyman Electrician with an emphases in commercial building electrical systems.
* This includes but is not limited to: DDC Building Automation HVAC Controls, Honeywell EBI Fire / Security Controls, Security Door Control systems and frequency drives.
* Three (3) to five (5) years working as a foreman within the trades.
* In lieu of, will consider work overall experience.
* If required at a future date, be able to obtain within 60 days of hire a City of Racine Supervising Electrician Certification.
* Prompt and regular attendance.

* Occasional (1-33% of workday) walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, balancing, reaching, feeling, talking, lifting, and carrying objects weighing 21-50 pounds, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 41-80 pounds on wheels, and high handling and fingering.

* Continuous (67-100% of workday) inside work, exposure to mechanical and electrical hazards.
* Frequent (34-66% of workday) heights above 12 feet from a ladder.
* Occasional (1-33% of workday) exposure to noise and vibrations, chemical and burn hazards, exposure to dust and physically confined workspaces.

Full Time, Regular Employees - (40 hours per week) Health Insurance Coverage:
* Racine County is self-insured. The Third-Party Administrator is UnitedHealthcare. Coverage is effective the first of the month following thirty days of employment.
* Premium sharing: Racine County pays 85%, employee pays 15%.
* IN NETWORK: Individual deductible $400, family deductible $800 per calendar year. After the deductible is met, the plan pays 80% of allowable charges. Out-of-pocket maximum per calendar year is $2000 for individual and $4000 for family.
* OUT OF NETWORK: Individual deductible is $800, family deductible $1600 per calendar year. After the deductible is met, the plan pays 60% of allowable charges. Out-of-pocket maximum per calendar year is $3000 for individual and $6000 for family.
* Prescription drug, vision, and mail order maintenance drug benefits.
Dental Insurance Coverage: Coverage is effective the first of the month following thirty days of employment. Choose either basic coverage or premium coverage. Basic coverage:
* Racine County is self-insured. The Third-Party Administrator for basic dental coverage is UnitedHealthcare.
* Individual deductible $25, family deductible $75 per family per year.
* No deductible for diagnostic or preventative services.
* Co Insurance 80% of usual and customary charges of covered services paid. Maximum of $1200/year per person.
* Fully paid insurance premium by Racine County.
* No orthodontic coverage.
Premium dental coverage (Anthem/Dentacare):
* No deductibles
* 100% coverage at participating dental center
* Employee pays for lab work (prosthetics, i.e., caps, crowns, bridges, dentures)
* Premium sharing Employee pays difference between basic coverage and Dentacare.
* Orthodontic coverage - Employee pays 50% of the fee up to a maximum
