Pay Rate: $23.50/hr
Employment Type: Contract (Approximately 6 months; extension possible)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Location: Wilmington, NC (100% Onsite)

Job Summary
As an Electrical Technician, you will provide hands-on support for installing, troubleshooting, and starting up automated production equipment. You will spend the majority of your time on the manufacturing floor, managing contractors and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Setup: Lead the hands-on installation, debugging, and startup of electrical systems and automated equipment.
  • Project Leadership: Supervise internal maintenance teams and outside contractors during construction, testing, and equipment conversions.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical issues. Redesign components to solve interference or performance problems.
  • Software & Controls: Modify PLC programs and set up machine control systems (analog/digital I/O, logic, and fail-safes).
  • Documentation: Create and update electrical drawings (Redlining), equipment manuals, and installation checklists.
  • Safety & Quality: Ensure all work meets OSHA, NEC, and corporate safety standards. Identify and report potential hazards.
  • Procurement: Order and track materials needed for equipment builds and modifications.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: AAS or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years in a manufacturing environment working with automation.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of power systems (480VAC and below).
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
    • Proficient with hand tools, testing instruments, and alignment devices.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Desired Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Software: AutoCAD Electrical, PLC systems (Beckhoff, Allen-Bradley, or B&R), and MS Office.
  • Regulatory: Knowledge of NEC, NFPA70, and OSHA standards.
  • Industry: Experience in Optical Fiber manufacturing.
Travel Requirements
  • Location: Frequent travel to North Carolina sites (Concord, Winston-Salem, Hickory, Newton, and Wilmington).
  • Duration: Ranges from short trips to full-time deployment during major project phases (3-9+ months).
