Electrical TechnicianElectrical TechnicianAbout This RoleWe believe people should love what they do – in a Test Technician role, you will be responsible for providing electrical support for the design, integration, and maintenance of electrical systems on a variety of technologies, ranging from land robotics to uncrewed surface vessels for military programs in a fast-paced environment. These systems are experimental and cutting-edge technological advancements that are intended to protect the warfighter in various theaters. This individual will have an opportunity to travel, execute experimental military and civil hardware testing, and grow in their role. The position involves supporting lab operations of component integration, modifications, assembly and test, of ground vehicles, air vehicles, and surface vessels.
Individuals must be willing to support remote test sites to include serving as a boat operator, safety lookout, as well as maintenance crew member during field testing. Individuals must be able to work from assembly documentation (i.e. work instructions, drawings etc.), parts lists, and diagrams to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components. May assemble by hand or operate semiautomatic assembly equipment.
Operates electronic and mechanical test equipment.Responsibilities:Maintain and operate unmanned systems and support equipmentTroubleshoot electronic and general electrical systemsAssist engineers and designers with prototype development and testingSupport offsite testing and demonstrationsActively perform lab maintenance, safety audits, and material trackingUse small hand tools such as soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers.Identify and document work order instruction or drawing errorsMaintain logbooks and records.Build and Test cable assembliesOperate USV's and manned vesselsOperate overhead cranes and forkliftWork extended/flexible hours to meet program goalsMaintain equipmentGeneral HousekeepingQualifications:High school diplomaAbility to interpret drawings and schematicsAbility to confidently use a Fluke DVMBoater Safety Course a plusBoating experience preferredWilling to travel up to 50% with international travel possibleBasic computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, database & technical drawing packagesAble to organize and set up tests with minimal guidanceEffective written and oral communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearanceMust be a team player and able to work with minimum supervisionGeneral electrical aptitude and the ability to be certified in IPC standardsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 poundsAbility to multitask and prioritize taskingAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsAbility to work on naval vesselAbility to work in tight quarters and confined spacesWorking knowledge of military specifications is a plusHow We CareAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
