Electrical Technician Panel BuilderLocation: Rockford, TNOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteJob SummaryWe are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Technician/Panel Builder to support sales and project management of Electrical Projects, Panels, Construction, Shipping Container Conversion, Machine Builds, and Fabrication Jobs at our Rock Solid Industrial Solutions division based in Rockford, TN. The successful candidate will be a friendly, detail-oriented self-starter who enjoys multi-tasking and working as part of a team. This is a cross-functional role which is deeply involved with multiple disciplines and works closely with Engineering, Sales, Fabrication, Assembly, and Project Management.Key ResponsibilitiesPanel BuildingRead and interpret electrical layout and schematic drawings and technical documentsAbility to create control panel layouts from management instructions or customer specificationsClient out, drill and tap mounting plates, modify enclosures, and mount DIN Rail, wireway, and components such as terminal blocks, relays, starters, power supplies, PLC's, and circuit breakersPerform point-to-point wiring, including routing, bundling, and crimping wires and cable in a safe and neat mannerUtilize terminal blocks and wireway effectively to create all panel input and output connectionsConduct continuity checks and testing with a multimeter to verify panel functionalityProvide specification and procurement of required panel componentsEnsure that all work adheres to industry standards, including the National Electrical Code, customer specifications, and UL 508A as requiredWork with minimal supervision once work assignments are given and explainedProject ManagementAssist in the development of project timelines and schedulesProvide support in the specification and procurement of materialsParticipating in project update and progress meetings as neededReview and assess project changes and their impact on cost and time (change orders)Collaborating in post-project reviews to drive improvementRequired ExperienceMinimum of 5–6 years of experience in electrical panel buildingExperience in electrical power and controls testing and troubleshootingRequired SkillsStrong understanding of National Electrical CodeExcellent analytical and mathematical skills for project design calculationsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentsSkilled in the use of hand and power tools, including wire strippers, crimpers, drills, saws, hole punches/sawsStrong technical background in electrical power systems, controls, and componentsFamiliar with motor control centers, power circuit breakers, transformers, PLC's, motors, and VFD'sProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Windows 11Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamGood attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent English communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred SkillsGood understanding of UL 508A standard is a plusEducation RequirementsAssociate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experienceWork Environment / Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 pounds, and work in tight spaces10–20% overnight travel (typically 3–5 nights per month, more if needed)BenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout GTTGTT is a minority-owned staffing firm and a subsidiary of Chenega Corporation, a Native American-owned company in Alaska.
