Electrical Technician
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to support bench-level testing and validation of Battery Management Systems (BMS) and Zonal ECUs for advanced automotive electrical systems. Irvine, CA | Onsite $38-$42/hr on W2
This role will work closely with hardware, software, and validation engineering teams to support testing, troubleshooting, and quality validation of vehicle electronic components and systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform electronics bench-level testing for BMS and Zonal ECUs
- Set up, configure, and maintain test benches and lab equipment
- Execute functional and electrical validation tests for battery systems and vehicle controllers
- Troubleshoot hardware and communication issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
- Support ECU flashing, firmware validation, and configuration activities
- Develop and execute test cases, log defects, and support issue resolution
- Analyze test results and document findings in validation reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve issues and improve product quality
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and testing standards
Required Qualifications
- Experience in ECU validation, electronics bench testing, or automotive electrical testing
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other lab equipment
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and layouts
- Experience with test execution, validation processes, and defect tracking
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with BMS systems, EV architecture, or battery electronics
- Familiarity with HiL testing environments
- Experience using Vector tools such as CANoe or CANalyzer
- Exposure to diagnostics and UDS communication
- Basic scripting or automation experience using Python or CAPL
- Knowledge of PCB/board-level debugging and ECU hardware validation
Nice to Have
- Automotive industry experience
- Exposure to ISO 26262 or automotive quality processes
- Experience supporting EV or high-voltage systems
