Electrical Technician IILocation(s): Medina, OH, USThe Electrical Tech 2 coordinates and executes maintenance electrical functions safely in the facility so the plant equipment and services perform at maximum levels and minimize unscheduled interruption of the plant operation. This position also trains other craft persons on electrical maintenance procedures and best practices and supports mechanical activities as needed. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting programmable logic controllers, electrical systems, and process control systems is required.

This is a full-time role that will report to the Electrical Foreman and indirectly to the Maintenance Leader. This position will begin as an 8-hr day shift, then, upon qualification and reasonable training period, will become an 8 hr night shift role.Responsibilities:Live and adhere to the Safety Culture of Zero Accidents, and ensure plant safety needs are given top priority, comply with all safety regulations, and maintain clean and organized work areasComply with all plant rules and corporate policies with regard to business conductEnsures operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive, diagnostic, and corrective maintenance on drives, backup power systems, motors, and other electronic systems, utilizing diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, engineering specifications and industry best practicesTroubleshoots and makes minor program modifications to HMIs, PLCs, Servos, VFD's and other control systemsProvides daily support to the production line and makes timely and appropriate decisions when an emergency or breakdown occurs so that production interruption is minimizedSupports maintenance technicians and assists with mechanical work as neededIdentifies opportunities for improving process controls and instrumentation and executes implementation with engineering support as neededUnderstands and able to troubleshoot and navigate the manufacturing LAN and process communicationsAssists with electrical, instrumentation and control installations and plant-led capital projectsProvides feedback and recommendations for downtime and shop work for electrical activities with respect to work requests, downtime lists and assigned projectsTrains others on electrical maintenance procedures and best practicesActively support and engage in plant TPM initiatives, housekeeping, and 5S programsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings; reviewing technical publications; establishing professional and intercompany networksAble to support the plant outside of normally scheduled hours as needed (remote or in person)Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisorEssential Qualifications:Basic knowledge of mathematicsExcellent communication skillsDemonstrates initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilityExcellent attention to detailExcellent attendanceAble to read and interpret blueprints and skematicsAble to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitudeAble to troubleshoot and program PLCs, VFDs, and HMIsDisplays a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learnSelf-starter, motivated and goal/results orientedWilling and able to teach/train othersStrong computer aptitude (typing, MS office suite, etc.)Able to use a multimeter and other electrical troubleshooting instruments/toolsMust be able to score at or above Class 1 mechanic level on the maintenance assessmentJob Requirements:Education/Experience: High School Diploma or EquivalentMust have at least 2 years relevant experience in an industrial manufacturing environmentMust be legally able to work in the United StatesMust read, write, and speak EnglishPerform basic arithmetic – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and work with fractionsAble to safety operate machine shop equipment, instruments, and toolsPhysical Requirements:Must be drug and alcohol freeAble to routinely lift up to 40 lbs without assistanceWork in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environmentAble to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of timeAble to work in cramped areas and enter confined spacesAble to work at heightsAble to walk up and down ladders, stairs and platforms frequentlyAble to safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – steel toed shoes, gloves, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or face shields), and face masks as necessary
