Electrical Technician
Under general supervision assists to perform routine maintenance of campus grounds.
Performs maintenance on electrical as required. Performs electrical repair maintenance, informing supervisor of problems and issues as they develop. Carries out electrical repair as provided. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Some college or Associate degree (A.A.) and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training or certification.
Journeyman Trade License (Electrical). Valid Texas Driver's License preferred.
Knowledge of: Policies, procedures, and practices. Requires some seasoning and experience beyond the entry level to conduct moderately complex work. Demonstrates general competence and growing knowledge and understanding of the overall function or discipline. Corrective complex electrical repair. MEP Systems. Safety guidelines. Skill in: Detail oriented. Problem-solving and decision-making. Multitasking and time management. Operating equipment. Strong analytical. Troubleshoot. Both verbal and written communication. Ability to: Work independently.
Three (3) years previous electrical repair experience, including one (1) year experience in plant operations.
Reach and grasp objects. Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Moderate to heavy physical activity. Prolonged standing and/or walking. Work a fluctuating work schedule.
