Onsite Full Time Engineering

  • Oversee operations and field personnel responsible for installing, adding, and repairing electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials/equipment
  • Report to the Project Manager
  • Lead and direct all field personnel involved in the project
  • Conduct orientation, time keeping, daily reports, safety reports, accident reports, and disciplinary reports
  • Function as the Site Safety Representative when needed
  • Perform construction takeoff using the bid estimate as a guideline and plan the job efficiently and profitably
  • Ensure materials are ordered and received in time to meet the work schedule
  • Work closely with Fabrication to maximize installation and labor savings
  • Maintain required personal tools
  • Comply with the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong commercial and industrial electrical background
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using sophisticated test equipment, including DMM, Megger, PQM, UCT, and IR Camera
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a specialized electrical service vehicle
  • Professional appearance and conduct
  • Computer and keyboard skills
  • OSHA 30 Hour, CPR, and First Aid trained
  • Ability to manage customer- and company-specific information and documentation in an organized manner
  • Ability to maintain productivity, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy
  • Effective professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to be on 24-hour rotating call as needed
  • References, background check, and drug screen testing required
  • Valid state driver's license required
  • High School Graduate/GED required
  • Journeyman Electrician/completion of Apprenticeship Program required
  • Minimum of 6 years electrical experience preferred in industrial or commercial construction
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week plus overtime, including night shifts and out-of-town work
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and at heights up to 90 feet
  • Ability to work in restricted areas and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and overhead reaching
  • Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, schematics, maps, manuals, directions, and written instructions
  • Must comprehend and practice safe work procedures
  • Must operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions
  • Must hear and see well, naturally or with correction
  • Must identify wire colors
